2024: I still love this place 5 years later! I recently noticed the paint on my 4Runner roof rack was deteriorating (factory paint job) and so I called Steve at Rocket Powder Coating to see what it would take to get the original paint stripped and powder coat it. Knowing I still don't live in the area (I'm several hours away), I was on a tight turnaround to get the job done while I was in Tallahassee for a week. Steve made it happen, even though it was a holiday week which meant only 4 business days to complete. I dropped my rack off early Monday morning and by Tuesday afternoon his crew called me saying it was ready to be picked up. Wow! Just like last time, I was highly impressed by both their customer service and their workmanship. I had them powder coat my rock sliders 5 years ago and, even with me stepping on them multiple times a day, they still look brand new. And my dad had them powder coat his wheels and he was super impressed, too! I can't say enough about this place. Even if you're not in Tallahassee, it's worth the drive if you need powder coating. 2019: Steve and his wife (owners of the company) are truly amazing. They have an extreme focus on providing the highest possible customer service and the product they put out is top-notch, too. I found them when I googled powder coating companies in Tallahassee. Three companies came up in my search results and I was determined to pick the best of the three. After much research and a trip to their shop, Rocket Powder Coating came out on top. I had ordered rock sliders for my 4Runner from a fabrication shop in another state. After talking to Steve, I decided to have them delivered straight to Rocket Powder Coating. I didn't know much about powder coating (except I liked the result), so I have to give Steve credit for hand holding me through the entire process. He answered every question I had with patience, explained the different finishes, and made recommendations on what would be best for my specific needs. We conversed by both email and phone and with both he was super responsive. There was some confusion with FedEx about what date my rock sliders would be delivered to the shop, which frustrated me, but Steve didn't seem to mind the change of plans one bit. Since he knew they were coming he made sure that when they arrived my project was completed right away. He even sent me photos and kept me up-to-date the whole time. Talk about truly fantastic customer service! And the quality of the powder coating job they did was amazing. My sliders came with step plates that were screwed on (a whole lot of screws). Steve had asked if I wanted the screws coated, too. I'm a visual person so of course I said yes. Rather than taking the easy way out and coating the entire piece as it came (screwed together), he chose to do the job the right way and take the pieces apart, powder coat them all as individual pieces (yes, even every single screw head), then put them back together for me before I picked them up. If you don't know much about powder coating, doing the pieces individually ensures way more protection from rust in the long run, so by doing it this way he was putting my best interest first. I'm willing to bet most other shops would have powder coated the entire thing together and still charged me the same amount. Not Steve, though. He's about doing things right. I can't rave enough about this company and the couple who owns it. It's very evident they care about both their customers and the product they provide. I have used Rocket Powder Coating on three occasions. Most recently they powder coated a set of 24 year old jeep wheels. They made these tired wheels look spectacular. They are very professional and take a lot of pride in their work. I would highly recommend them.
