After being a customer at Leon's Powdercoating for years having them do motorcycle frames and assorted parts I recently went to have some rims and hubs coated only to be turned away because the owners son Enrique was in Mexico and nobody else could do the work. Strange. For weeks I called to see if Enrique had returned. Finally I drove by and saw the owners daughter who said to bring the parts by and they would be done in a week. A little longer than normal but what the heck I needed them done. I dropped the parts off and a few days later I went to pick them up only to find that the hubs were only coated in the center of the hub and not the outside of the flanges. The manager got mad at me and threw me out without even an offer to fix the job. I get home and there is a message stating that I an no longer welcome as a customer at Leon's Powdercoating.
My 19x4 ft worktruck rack only took two days and was about half the price than 4 other places I called. The workers whom helped me unload and load it, were extremely friendly and even gave me cardboard to keep it from being scratched! This seems like a given, but ALOT of places just assume you should bring it.
I've been going to this shop for 4 or 5 years. Have had 30 or so bullards powder coated. Never had a problem. This last time I brought in a batch and they were all painted the wrong color. Gave them a couple more weeks to fix it and they still had them the wrong color again. The metal was too thin to sand blast again so I had to leave it the way it was. They broke off a rivit and lost one of the clips that goes inside. Before this I never had a problem, but I'm really not happy with the outcome of today.
